A lot of cloth diapers have to be washed up to six times before wearing to remove the natural plant oils. Otherwise they repel liquids instead of absorbing them. (Man i feel sorry for the person that doesn't know that and tries to use a cloth diaper without prepping). Back to my point, these diapers only have to be washed ONCE to prep them! ONCE! They will become more absorbent, but i found one wash was all it took. They dry very quickly on the clothes line, in fact they're almost dry when they come out of the wash.
The lovely diapers came in pale yellow, purple, blue, and minty/lime green. Yup, my son wears purple diapers. they also came with 24 inserts. I use one during the day, and two overnight, as he keeps the diaper on all night without a change. I'm not going to wake a sleeping baby to change his diaper, and he sleeps 12 hours straight. The inserts seem to be very absorbent to me (they are micro fibre i think). More so than pre-folds or fitted diapers, which are what we had been using.
Also, the diaper is lined in a micro fleece, which keeps the moisture away form baby's skin, which is great for the all night diaper.
All in all, after 6 months of use i can say these are great diapers. At $6.50 a pop, the are much cheaper than Bum Genius or Fuzzi Bunz. I got mine on e-bay, but they are around the same price if you buy them directly from the seller. The website is www.theluvyourbaby.com

Sorry to take so long to respond. I have been using these since Jackson was 2 months old, so almost 6 months. They work as good as the day i bought them. Just be careful opening the snaps. I yanked on the too hard a few times, and ripped the stitching at the top of the diaper. I know it is because i wasn't careful.
We have these diapers too! Great colours and value! Have you had any problems with ammonia smell? All of my diapers have been afflicted of late *le sigh* and nothing seems to be working! Maybe I have to buy new inserts?

Morgan, I use a different diaper, but when the smell gets to much, I add baking soda to the washer, right at the beginning when the water is filling....probably about 1/4 cup or so...hope that might help.
Do any of you have a front load HE washer? I tried both the Kawaii and Fuzzibunz and had an impossible time getting them clean in my HE washer. From what I understand it is a bad combo of super absorbent diapers and not enough water in the front loading washers. I tried pre-soaking them, baking soda, borax, etc. Nothing worked and my kids kept getting diaper rashes because of them.
I also had had major leaking issues with them both overnight and during naps. Maybe my kids just pee a lot....
Anyway I hate to sell these and give up on cloth diapering....But honestly I have 3 babies in diapers and I'm pregnant. I don't have 2 hours a night to do diapers.
OH don't give up on cloth diapering! you might have solved your problem by now... but CDing really ought to be just as easy as disposables. there are so many styles of CDs out there now and not every kind works for every person. I also have a front-loading HE washer. I would suggest checking out http://www.diaperswappers.com/ where you could trade in your Kawaiis for a different CD that may work better for you. Hybrids like Flips are a bit expensive now, since they were so recently invented, but the convenience of changing just the insert at each changing, and the amount of laundry this cuts down, seem well worth the cost to me. also - check out http://verybaby.com/cms-display/dollars.html for a budgeting comparison. even buying kind-of expensive CDs upfront, you'll still save ~$1700 in the long run.
i also recommend the whattoexpect.com's Green Parenting message board for more support. There are a ton of very knowledgable mothers there.
btw "stripping" diapers (when they smell of ammonia) is usually done by adding a tablespoon of Dawn dish detergent to your load of wash. BUT this will damage an HE washer. I learned this from reading both the Cotton Babies and Diaper Jungle Cloth Diapering 101 guides. I noticed that the Cotton Babies one actually had some misinformation in its washing instruction section, so I was glad I read them both.

I've heard the soap deposits (main culprit of the ammonia smell) are more common if you have hard water. we have a water softener so i doubt i will ever have this problem. hmm - you know you can buy detergent made specially for the kind of water you have? http://rockingreensoap.com/
With an He washer you have to add more water. If your washer doesn't have an add more water function, you can throw a wet towel into the load, to trick the washer into thinking it is full, therefore it will add more water. I don't personally have an HE washer, but my friend does, and she has do do extra rinses (she also has the same Kawaii diapers i have.) I've been using them for over 8 months, and they still work great, no smell, no leaks. Leaking and smell=buildup. I would try stripping them. Also, for nighttime we use 3 inserts, Jackson sleeps 12 hours, and would pee through them otherwise. If he wore a disposable, he would pee through that too.
