These are bento lunches. A bento is a traditional Japanese boxed lunch. I like the idea of it for kids because it makes the food look fun, and you can incorporate small bites of a variety of different foods.

I already get stuck in a rut, trying to make sure Jacksons meals are tasty, baby friendly, and nutritionally balanced. It will be much easier when he can eat everything. I love coming across sites like these, that give me inspiration to keep changing it up and making his meals fun.

Today jackson ate:

Breakfast: Squash, cottage cheese and oatmeal
Lunch: Diced pear, diced orange, cheddar cheese cubes, chopped roast beef, and a slice of pita.
Supper: Squash, diced carrots, cottage cheese + mashed broccoli

I think i'm giving him enough variety, and  he enjoys the foods he eats. The kid eats broccoli, what more can i ask for!
