New Years

2012-You were lovely.

I was forever changed by midwifery and homebirth. Our beautiful girl, brought into this world gently and with love. Another piece of my heart walking around outside of my body. Ellie is happy, and determined. A good sleeper, but full of energy. She loves affection. Sometimes i feel like she IS love.

Jackson became a big brother, he loved Elody from the moment he saw her. It's as if he knew her already. Jackson saw 2 come, and almost go, he has tested and taught us. I am a better momma every day because of him. He will always be my first baby, but i am learning to let him become a boy.

Marcus became a daddy again, in a whole new way. I don't think he was prepared, a little girl has a way of making her daddy's heart grow, and ripping it apart at the same time. The hair he does have left, immediately turned grey, as he announced "She's not dating until she's 30!"

Our love has grown, changed, and intensified this year. I am so looking forward to another whirlwind year, with my loves, and my best friend at my side.

Christmas Eve

It's Christmas Eve. The children are snug in their beds. Momma and Daddy are putting the finishing touches on the presents and stockings, and setting out cookies and carrots for Santa and his reigndeer. This is the first year Jackson is excited about presents and Christmas. The look on his face tomorrow will be the best gift of all. Merry Christmas to you and yours. We hope your day is filled with family, food and love.

Elody Jane: 7 Months

Our sweet Ellie,

7 months, in the blink I an eye. You are such a sweet good natured baby, I didn't believe such happy beings existed. You only fuss when you are tired, or if someone tries to give you a cold baba.

Your extensive list of nicknames (i know, they are strange, but so is your daddy!) Ellie belly, Smelly Jelly, Belly Belly, and of course, Snoochie boochie.

You are growing like a weed! 17ish lbs, I can't believe you are at least as big as your big brother was at this age! You also have 7 (almost 8) teeth, and chew everything you can get your hands on.

Your big brother, loves you like no one else. Already fiercely protective, no one is allowed to touch his "Ewwies" toys. And the hand holding, (insert heart exploding) ever time I turn you are sitting on the carpet together holding hands, giggling and smiling. I can't wait to see your friendship develop.

You are turning into a little mover! Trying to crawl, and pull up. I so look forward to watching you explore your world. Chubby baby legs scooting all over the house. You are much more cautious than Jacskon was, I think you like the really know how to do something, before you attempt it.

You love most food too. So far there is nothing you truely refuse, and you've tried just about everything. Banana and sweet potato seem to be you faves, cheese, yogurt and squash aren't far behind. 

I can't believe we are already into the second half of your first year. Time slow down, my mama heart can't take it.

Halloween!

Our scary monster and chubby kitty had a blast trick or treating! Neither cared that it was cold and rainy. A 2.5 year old saying "Trick a tweet!" Is, by far the cutest thing I have ever witnessed. There were almost some tears, at this confident little man, walking up to the houses so sure of himself.
